Software that keeps pace with the scale house and the commodity board

Recycling runs on weights, grades and prices that change faster than most systems can follow. We build and connect the software behind scrap metal, fiber, plastics, e-waste, pallets and C&D operations, from the first scale ticket to the buyer settlement. The goal is one trusted record of what came in, what it became and where it went.

What the software has to survive

These conditions decide what we build before any feature list does.

Prices move while the truck is on the scale
Ferrous, nonferrous, OCC and plastics prices shift daily, sometimes within the shift. Tickets, inventory valuation and buyer contracts all have to keep up, or margin leaks out in small amounts nobody sees until month end.
Dust, weather and gloves
Scale houses, loaders and sorting lines are loud, dirty and often outdoors. Screens need to be large, usable with gloves, and still work when Wi-Fi drops at the far end of the yard.
Material changes form and grade
A load arrives as mixed scrap, gets sorted, baled or shredded, and leaves under a different grade. Tracking weight and value through each step is where many yards lose the thread, and where paper and spreadsheets stop scaling.
Reporting follows the material
Regulators, downstream buyers and some customers want proof of where material came from and where it went. That proof is only as good as the records created at the scale and the dock.

What we build for recycling & waste

Scale ticket capture
We read weights straight from truck scale indicators and tie each ticket to the customer, material, driver and plate, so nobody keys the same ticket twice. Inbound and outbound tickets land in one place, with photos from the scale-house camera attached.
Bale and commodity inventory
Every bale or container gets a tag, a grade, a weight and a location, scanned at each move. Inventory is valued against current commodity prices, so the owner can see the position by grade, not just by tonnage.
Buyer settlement reconciliation
We match mill and buyer settlements against your outbound tickets and flag differences in weight, grade, moisture and contamination deductions. Disputes start with the evidence already attached instead of a hunt through old paperwork.
Hauling and container tracking
Dispatch boards, driver apps and route sheets cover roll-offs, trailers and pallet pickups. Each container has a known location and status, from empty at the customer site to full at the yard to emptied at the buyer.
Chain of custody and compliance reports
Required reports are built from the same ticket, inventory and shipment data you record every day. Chain of custody for e-waste, regulated materials and customer audits becomes a by-product of normal work, not a monthly scramble.
AI-assisted grading from photos
For well-defined categories, a vision model can offer a second opinion on inbound loads and flag likely contamination for a grader to check. It does not replace a trained grader on mixed or unusual material, and we say so up front.

Systems we connect to

We work with what you already run. Replacing a system is a last resort, not a starting point.

  • Truck scale indicators
  • Scale house and yard software
  • Camera and LPR systems
  • Label and bale tag printers
  • Telematics and GPS
  • Buyer and mill portals
  • QuickBooks

Questions buyers ask

Can you connect to our truck scale?

Usually yes. Most truck scale indicators expose weight over a serial or network connection, and we read it directly so no one types the number. Older indicators sometimes need a small gateway device, and we confirm what your scales support during the assessment.

Do we have to replace our current scrap yard software?

Not necessarily. If your current system handles tickets and pricing well, we leave it in place and build around it: reports, a driver app, a buyer reconciliation tool or an integration to accounting. We recommend replacement only when the system is the actual bottleneck.

Can AI grade material from photos?

In narrow cases, yes, as a second opinion for a human grader rather than a replacement. It works best on clear categories with consistent camera angles and lighting, and it works poorly on heavily mixed material. We test it on your own photos in the assessment before anyone commits to building it.

How do you help with compliance reporting?

We build reports from the ticket, inventory and shipment data you already record, so required records come out of daily work. We do not give legal advice or certify compliance, so your compliance lead still decides what each report must contain, and we build to that specification.
